Expanding your Horizons (EYH) in Math and Science is an all-day Saturday conference for girls in 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grades.
The SIUC Math Club is a largely informal club dedicated to improving students' understanding of mathematics and how it impacts their lives.
The Mathematics Department sponsors a mathematics contest, called Math Field Day, for regional high school students. Schools from the southern part of Illinois, ranging from Edwardsville to Fairfield to Massac County, as well as a few schools from Missouri, Kentucky, and Tennessee participate.
Illinois Junior Academy of Science (IJAS) "is an organization that exists solely for the benefit of students. It gives to students who will not necessarily become a science specialist some insight into the problems and methods of thinking that are particular to the scientist but applicable to other occupations, information concerning new investigations and discoveries in science, and an understanding of the science-produced equipment used."
