IL-MO Regional Undergraduate Mathematics Conference

was held November 13th on the SIUC campus this year. We had a great turnout for the conference and hope to see some of you again next year.

Congratulations ...

To Professor Dashun Xu and Professor MingQing Xiao, who have both been awarded a three-year research grant from the National Science Foundation. They will receive funding, in collaboration with Professor John D. Reeve of the SIUC Zoology Department, for "Collaborative research: Vulnerable host stages, development time and host-parasitoid stability - The first experimental test". This grant will be carried out in collaboration with Professor James Cronin of Louisiana State University.

Catalyst Summer Institute

Algebra Project/Young People's Project SIUC Summer Institute program provided a new math experience for some Illinois and Ohio high school students. This is the first interaction of the long term NSF funded grant program run by Gregory Budzban and Lee McEwan to develop an innovative way to learn mathematics.
